SAFE PARISH

Procedure for Protecting our Children

Safe Parish Logo.PNG

Safe Parish is a learning management system specifically designed for Catholic Churches and Schools  to provide training for a child and workplace safe environment. All new volunteers and employees  will need to complete the Safe Parish training and remain compliant to be eligible to volunteer or work in any capacity.

All new volunteers and employees should follow the Safe Parish registration instructions for creating a Safe Parish account. During the registration process, new volunteers and employees will be invited to complete their background check and child protection training online. New employees will also need to complete manual fingerprinting and submit a B4 form for approval.

In order to stay compliant you must complete quarterly training bulletins. Emails will come from Safe Parish notifying users of the quarterly training which will also appear in their account under training that is due. Users can check for training that is due after logging into their Safe Parish account by going to the Training Tab and clicking on the ‘Due’ link to see which bulletins are due and their due date.

ALL teachers, cafeteria/playground workers, coaches, volunteers, staff members, priests and deacons, Mass Coordinators, Scout Leaders and Maintenance employees MUST remain in compliance of the decree. Please call Mel McWilliams, Safe Environment Coordinator, at 937.254.6233 with any questions or email at mel.mcwilliams@sthelenparish.org.
